What is Genital Herpes?

ONE of the genitalia diseases is genital herpes which is an acute inflammatory disease. The prognosis varies, depending on the patient’s age, the strength of his immune defenses, and the infection site. Primary genital herpes usually is self-limiting but may cause painful local or systemic disease. In newborns and illlmunocompromised patients, such as those with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, genital herpes is commonly severe, resulting in complications and a high mortality.
