Our patients want to make us clean their teeth’s coffee,tea and cigaratte stains and they call whitening to this process.However,cleaning of spots on teeth and removing of dental calculus procudure is called cleaning tartar,not whitening.This procudure is being used for returning our patients teeth to their original colour.
Bleaching procudure is that to make your teeth whiter .Bleaching is usually done for esthetic purposes and is more expensive than the procudure of removing dental calculus.

Currently there are two different bleaching methods .First one is bleaching which is made by patients theirselves. The second method of bleaching is done by dentist at the clinic.

The materials of bleaching is for only professionel use and must be used under control of your dentist.The materials ,which are being sold in various stores and the internet and are being used without control of dentist ,are too weak for bleacing and harmful to your teeth.

Home Bleaching
Home bleaching is done under control of dentist at home by the patients.It is used for simple stains on teeth.

First of all a copy of patient’s mouth is taken for bleaching. On this model ,a transparent and elastic plate is prepared . The teeth whitening gel ,which is given by dentist,is supplied into this plate by patient.

Home bleaching is usually used at nights or weekends. In a few weeks later the degree of whiteness tone, which is desired, is achieved. According to the method used in clinical, results will be slower.

Office Bleaching
In clinical teeth whitening (office bleaching) is a method applied at clinic by the dentist.

This practise is used for theeth which are diffucult to whiten. In this method, the gums were isolated, a chemical bleaching agent is applied on the teeth and for improving the effectiveness of these substances ,the blue light is used .
Both teeth whitening techniques as well be active, but preferred technique is according to the degree of stains on the teeth, and the dentist’s opinion. The most frequently asked questions:

Are there any side effects of teeth whitening?
Today, all the whitening gel is caused more or less sensitive. This is normal and expected side effects. Your dentist will apply flour in the case of sensitivity and recommend special toothpaste to eliminate the sensitivity.

Teeth back into the old colors?
At the end of bleaching process you’ll have your new tooth color to be permanent,is according to using tea, coffee, red wine, such as smoking and food and the importance you give to your mouth hygiene .If your teeth’s colour is back to old colour, the process may need to be replaced.

After bleaching will the color of my old porcelain veneers and my old fillings whiter?
All whitening agents are effective on teeth.It means it is not effective on porcelain veneers and fillings. After bleaching,you may have to change your old restoration to make their colours as similar as your teeth’ new colour.
